This clip is from the beginning of the film, in which we see the new Viceroy and Vicereine attending a performance of a play by Sor Juana in the Convent. Sor Juana's reputation has preceded her, and the Viceroy enthusiastically tries to remember a famous poem of hers which gently mocks men for their hypocrisy towards women ("Hombres necios que acusáis a las mujeres sin razón"). Note the archbishop, who is shocked by such frivolity, and declares at the end, "This is not a convent, it's a brothel (lupanar)".
